Anouar Brahem at the Locarno International Film Festival
The film "Words After the War" directed and coproduced by Anouar Brahem has been selected by the prestigious annual Film Festival in Locarno, Switzerland, with its world-premiere set for August 4.
The film set in Lebanon is articulated as a story centred on interviews with Lebanese artists and intellectuals just after the cease-fire introduced in the summer 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon. Men and women of different generations and faiths talk frankly with rare emotion and sincerity in eye-witness accounts of the events they lived through.
Official screening: Saturday August 4, Rialto Cinema 1 at 6.30pm.
