"Astrakan café" tops the yearly German Jazz Chart
In the 2001 Jazz Chart of German retail/business magazine Musikmarkt, Anouar Brahem's album of pan-Arab improvisational music 'Astrakan Café' beats - rather surprisingly - all the jazz competition by placing at #2.
The 2001 Jazz Chart is compiled from individual chart-placings throughout the year.
